LAHORE: Police have arrested PML-N member of Punjab Assembly Naveed Ali in the case about slapping assistant commissioner Pakpattan and kidnapping him following the rejection of his bail plea from high court.

Justice Shehram Sarwar of Lahore High Court (LHC) took up the bail plea of PML-N MPA Naveed Ali in slapping and kidnapping of assistant commissioner Pakpattan case for hearing Wednesday.

Navid Ali and his father Ahmad Rana appeared in the court on expiry of period of interim bail. Additional IG Investigation filed report on the court’s order.

The court rejected bail plea of Naveed Ali in the light of evidence. The police arrested Naveed Ali.

Last December Assistant commissioner Pakpattan Khawar Bashir had conducted raid on a wedding ceremony till late night. MPA Naveed Ali and his father Ahmad Rana were also present in this ceremony. A brawl took place over the matter of closure of marriage ceremony. Police had registered case against Naveed Ali for attempting to slap and kidnap assistant commissioner Pakpattan. Trial court had rejected bail plea. Later Naveed Ali resorted to LHC.
