Politicians, religious parties leaders & journalists pay glowing tribute to religious & nationalistic services of Qazi Hussain Ahmad

LAHORE: Politicians, religious parties leaders and journalists have paid glowing tribute to the religious and nationalistic services of the Jamaat-e-Islami former chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad on occasion of the his death anniversary.

The JI Lahore Chapter organized the event at Mansoora on Monday in remembrance of the late leader who played a key role in national and regional politics during his decades’ long association with the Jamaat and serving as a member of the National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan.

JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim said Qazi Hussain Ahmad was the great advocate of unity among Muslim world. During his entire life, he made tireless efforts to achieve this objective, he added. Azeem said uniting the religious parties of all schools of thought at the platforms of Muthida Majlise Amal and Milli Yakjehti Council was one of Qazi’s greatest achievements. He said the former JI leader made the Jamaat vocal and active against tyranny and injustice.

Senior journalist Sohail Warraich was of the view that Qazi Hussain introduced a major change in JI narrative and also he played a vital role in altering people perception about the Jamaat. It was late Qazi who challenged the view about the JI that it was an anti-Pakistan-Ideology party. He said Qazi Hussain Ahmad had the guts of sensing the public pulse.

JI Deputy Chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz, Kashmiri leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi, JUP leader Qari Zawar Bahadur, JI Lahore chapter Ameer Zikrullah Mujahid and Qazi Hussain Ahmed’s son Asif Luqman Qazi also spoke on occasion.

People from all walks of life including the JI leaders Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Abdul Ghaffar Abid and Mian Shafique attended the event.
