President calls for enhancing bilateral cooperation with Japan in diverse fields

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has said Pakistan is keen to further enhance level of cooperation with Japan particularly in the areas of trade, investment, development, energy, institution building and capacity building.

He was talking to outgoing ambassador of Japan Inomata in Islamabad. He invited Japanese investors to take advantage of the investment friendly policies of Pakistan. The President called for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and technology and work for mutual benefit.

He said Pakistan would welcome the Japanese companies to invest and transfer the latest Japanese technology to Pakistan that would enhance the capacity of our industrial sector to produce value added goods.

Mamnoon Hussain appreciated the contributions made by outgoing ambassador of Japan for further strengthening of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan. Hiroshi Inomata expressed hope that bilateral relations would attain new heights in future.

Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the nation to participate in country’s construction by following the footprints of its forefathers.

Addressing a function organized in memory of the veteran leader of Pakistan movement Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar in Islamabad on Friday evening, he said lives of the founder of Pakistan and his close aides were free of contradictions.

The President said Sardar Abdur Rab Nihstar was a trusted fellow of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

He said Sardar Abdur Rab Nihstar had rendered great services for the promotion of Urdu and rehabilitation of migrants at the time of partition.

Mamnoon Hussain said being federal minister and Governor of Punjab Sardar Abdur Rab Nihstar had not used his authority for personal gains.

He said the veteran leader had played an important role in creation and construction of Pakistan. He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Gwadar Port are long term projects initiated for the development of the country in line with the ideology of its forefathers.

He said Sardar Abdur Rab Nihstar had always supported correct utilization of resources.

The President said Pakistan can be put on the path of development and progress by following the principles of its founding fathers like Sardar Abdur Rab Nihstar. He said Sardar Abdur Rab Nihstar had wanted to form a commonwealth of Islamic countries.}
