Prima facie prosecution extended help in release of drug traffickers by tempering sampling: SC

ISLAMABAD: Justice Amir Hani Muslim has remarked “ prima facie the prosecution extends help in the release of drug traffickers by tempering in sampling.

A 3-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) led by Justice Nasir ul Mulk took up for hearing case of accused Murtaza and others Monday.

He further remarked “ only one packet was made deliberately against 20 packets of 20 kilogram charas which shows as if the accused had taken only one kilogram charas due to which he can be convicted and awarded 7 years imprisonment term instead of life imprisonment.

The court was told during the hearing of the case that 20 kilogram charas was recovered from a car on Tarbella road but only one packet was made of this entire quantity of charas instead of making 20 packets.

The court had awarded life imprisonment to the accused against recovery of 20 kilogram charas. The high court had upheld life term imprisonment while the SC quashed his life term in jail and awarded 7 years imprisonment term.
