ISLAMABAD: Central Information Secretary PTI, Shireen Mazari, has said that Maulana Sami ul Haq’s statement that “peace will come when Pakistan exits the United States’ War on Terrorism (WoT) was vindication of PTI’s position.

She said that PTI had always demanded that terrorism in Pakistan had a direct correlation to the State having become a party to the US War on Terror, and felt that since currently a direct dialogue between the government of Pakistan and the TTP was proceeding, delinking from the US WoT has become a critical factor in moving towards peace.

“While there are some indigenous factors for militancy also prevailing in the country including sectarian terror, mafia terror and sub national militancy these have all been aggravated by external intrusions and in the case of the Taliban the US WoT”, she stressed.

She also felt that it was now imperative to isolate the hardcore militants and ensure that peace through dialogue succeeds to prevent more bloodshed especially of innocent Pakistanis.d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);
