PTI surrendered country’s economy to IMF: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE: Former interior minister and Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry on Saturday slammed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) led federal government for imposing an unconditional burden of inflation on the masses.

In a statement Ahsan Iqbal said that this is just the beginning of the tsunami of inflation. He said, “The inflation will increase after the budget.”

“Niazi-led federal government has surrender the country’s economic autonomy to International Monetary Fund (IMF),” added Ahsan.

“Within the previous ten months only, the burden of debt has increased by Rs3 trillion due to devaluation,” he further added.

“Every citizen has become poorer by 30 percent, and the worth of Pakistan’s economy has reduced from the previous $315 billion to $260 billion within the previous 10 months of Niazi’s government,” maintained Ahsan.

“More than 10 million people have become unemployed within the previous span of ten months,” he said.

The PML-N leader said now every Pakistani citizen owe [an additional debt of] Rs16,000.
