Lahore: Punjab government’s vision “health for all” policy implemented in the Lahore General Hospital, under this vision, best healthcare and medical facilities are being provided to the patients.

Focal Person Emergency LGH Dr Laila Shafique briefed the Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Dr Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar has told that during the first 3 months of 2021, 1, 86, 876 patients were treated free of cost in the Emergency Department of LGH.

Principal PGMI appreciated the performance of the doctors, nurses and paramedics to ensure timely treatment facilities to the patients. He appealed to the citizens that face masks is essential to get rid of corona virus.

He stressed that it is the responsibility of medical professionals, media, civil society to convey the slogan to the general public that “Corona is an epidemic and precaution is a cure”.

Prof. Al-freed also reviewed the Polio counters and directed the staff of the hospital that the counselling of parents about polio is necessary to protect children from this disease.

Dr. Abdul Razzaq, Dr. Laila Shafiq, Nursing Supervisor Anwar Sultana and others were also present on the occasion. Prof. Al-freed Zafar while paying homage to the services of doctors, nurses and paramedics said that despite the threat of Corona Epidemic people in the medical field are serving the patients without caring for their lives and trying their best to save the lives of others.

He said that a large number of patients are being treated daily in the Emergency Department and outdoors, where medical facilities are being provided in the hospital.

He said that according to the policy of the Punjab Government, not a single penny is spent on operating equipment, medicines, CT scans and other diagnostic tests of the patients coming to the Emergency Department.

He urged all the administrative doctors to visit the beds in the morning, evening and night shift to inquire about the well-being of the patients as well as to be aware of the medical facilities. He also appealed to the medical staff to perform their duties throughout the year with dedication and hard work, as well.
