Rawalpindi police finalizes action plan for bye polls

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi police has evolved a security plan for the upcoming bye elections that are going to be held on 14th October in which some 4,000 police personnel would perform duty.

For making fool proof security ,Rawalpindi has been divided into three divisions, seven sub divisions, 11 sectors and 45 sub sectors. Around 24 sections of Elite Force would be deployed to manage any untoward situation on the election day.

According to security plan , some 646 polling stations of Rawalpindi district are declared sensitive as these are kept in the four categories. There are 76 polling stations are kept In most sensitive of category “A” , where more police force would be deployed on the eve of bye elections. Similarly some 125 polling stations have been categorized as “B” and 445 stations would be in category “C” where police force woud be deployed according to the nature of sensitivity.

The Station House Officers (SHOs) of all the police stations are directed to carry out patrolling on the bye-polls and check different places from time to time. SSP(Operations) Ali Raza would supervise entire security arrangements on the occasion of bye elections.

The RPO Rawalpindi has also issued instructions to police force to ensure the implementation of the Election Commission’s code of conduct and no one should be allowed to open firing or to create any type of mayhem at the time of announcing the results.
