SHC summons IG Sindh on next hearing in 23 missing children case

Karachi:Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned Inspector General (IG) Sindh on next hearing in 23 missing children case.

Sindh High Court took up case of 23 children who had gone missing from Karachi for hearing on Thursday.

During the course of hearing, government Counsel took the plea that 22 FIRs have been registered in missing children case while DIG crimes informed court that a team had been set up on orders of IG Sindh which has recovered one girl so far.

Court while expressing displeasure upon police performance remarked, “Court expresses its grave concern over non recovery of missing children adding police investigations are very sluggish”.

Court has directed police officials to constitute a new team under DIG and make sure recovery of missing children as soon as possible.

SHC also directed DIG police to appear before court in person on every hearing till recovery of missing children.

Court has ordered police that they should utilize new techniques for the recovery of missing children and report should be presented before it within three weeks.

However, court has summoned IG Sindh on next hearing and remarked that IG should explain police performance about missing persons in-person .
