Islamabad: PML-N president and National Assembly’s opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif Saturday took government to the cleaners for suddenly increasing prices of basic commodities and said that “23 percent increase in prices of 24 daily use goods during a single week is worst exploitation and injustice”

In a statement, Shehbaz said that inflation has surged during past week with a ratio of 13.64 percent and it is a testimony that ‘government is missing’

He said that poverty is increasing with most alarming ratio and inflation rate for those who live below poverty line is 17.02 percent which is condemnable.

PML-N president said that due to highest of inflation rates, goods of basic necessity like eggs, milk, cooking oils, yogurt, rice and wheat have gone out of common man’s buying power.

He said that cooking oil’s prices have surged by 37 percent as compared to last year, chicken prices have increased by 39 percent, and this is biggest injustice.

Criticizing PTI-led government, he said that current government has only crushed people in the mill of inflation.
