Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, amid anti-India slogans thousands attend funerals of two civilians who were killed in firing by Indian police on Sunday in Pulwama.

A large number of people from local and adjacent villages participated in funerals of the martyred civilians held at Ratnipura and Lelhar in Pulwama, last evening.

Three Kashmiris, including a 22-year-old woman, were killed and 12 others were injured Sunday afternoon after police opened fire on them.

The martyred civilians were identified as Danish Rashid, resident of Ratnipura, and woman Shaista Hamid of Lelhar in Pulwama district, reported. Danish and Shaista were taken to hospital, where the doctors declared them dead.

The incidents triggered clashes between protesters and police, and protesters started chanting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. Around a dozen were injured in the firing by Indian police.

Earlier, a Mujahid, Adil Ahmad, was martyred during an encounter in the district.
