Thousands of projects completed in rural areas in PPP regime: Ashraf

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said the previous government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) completed thousands of development projects in rural areas, stating that funds were issues through relevant departments.

Speaking to reporter, the former premier claimed said all the rules and regulations were followed in issuance of about RS 3.23 billion for his native town Gujar Khan asserting that these funds were issued to official departments not to individuals.

He clarified that all amounts were issued through proper channel.

Pervez Ashraf said that several personalities of Gujar Khan applied for developmental schemes and name of applier were mentioned on the special forms.

He was of the opinion that news published in the media give impression that funds were issued to the individuals.
