Why Pakistan is not buying gas from Russia: Opposition in NA

ISLAMABAD: Raising questions on the government claims on resolution of energy crisis in the country the opposition has said in National Assembly (NA) why Pakistan is not buying gas from Russia so far while the entire world including India is purchasing gas from Russia.

Responding to a question from GDA MNA Dr Fahmida Mirza on purchase of oil from Russia to address energy crisis , the statement minister for energy Dr Musaddaq Malik said no agreement on purchase of oil and gas on lower rate has come so far. While one letter of PSO has come to fore.

Dr Malik said if a new question is asked on what agreement was reached with Russia or otherwise then I will present details in this regard. We will have to see importing oil from Russia will leave what repercussions. Restrictions are being imposed on Russia and Iran.
