Bad governance is major impediment on the way to rule of law: IHC

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Minallah has remarked bad governance is major impediment on the way to rule of law.

He gave these remarks while hearing a petition filed by the inmates of area against the illegal occupation of land, encroachments and closure of their passage by private housing society here Thursday.

Ashraf Gujjar advocate appeared on behalf of the petitioners who prayed the court to issue order to housing society for opening the passage.

The CJ IHC remarked where the common man will go when the administration protects the powerful. Pakistan stands at 130 number in terms of rule of law. The entire load is shifted to courts due to bad governance. The land of people is being allotted to influential persons in Islamabad.

The court while directing deputy commissioner Hamza Shafqat to get open the passage wrapped up the petition.
