CM Buzdar inaugurates women protection helpline, drinking water project

Lahore: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has announced 508 projects of Punjab Aab Pak Authority at the cost of Rs1,400 million to provide clean drinking water to the people of South Punjab.

He also inaugurated the helpline of Punjab Women Protection for the safety of women. He participated in Mango Festival along with provincial ministers.

According to the details, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar arrived in Multan on Thursday on a two-day visit. Provincial ministers Dr. Akhter Malik, Hussain Jahanian Gardezi, and Parveen Sarwar were also with him.

On the first day of his visit, the Governor also visited Mukhtar Ahmad Sheikh Memorial Welfare hospital and appreciated the high-quality medical facilities provided to the people there. He said that only those who served humanity live in history.

Later, Punjab Governor along with his wife Begum Parveen Sarwar visited the Social Welfare Complex and inaugurated a special helpline for the protection of women there.

While addressing the ceremony, he said that the rights of women are being ensured in every welfare scheme of the federal and Punjab government including Ehsas Program.

The Governor said the government believes that the country can’t make progress without women empowerment, adding that the government is taking practical steps to ensure their participation in every walk of life.

Chaudhry Sarwar along with Provincial Ministers Dr Akhter Malik and Hussain Jahanian Gardezi also attended DHA Multan Mango Festival as special guest.

In his address, Chaudhry Sarwar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government is taking revolutionary steps for the business community.

There is no such precedent in the past for the steps being taken by the present government. Every penny allocated for South Punjab will be spent in a 100 per cent transparent manner for the welfare, development, and prosperity of the people here.
