ISLAMABAD/Jhelum: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that the Punjab local government elections would be held in March next year as Prime Minister Imran Khan issued directives to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmed Khan Buzdar and provincial local government in that regard. He said that due to price spiral at international level, Pakistan is also facing price spiral but this price spiral will start coming down in next six or eight months
In an interview with a private TV channel, the Information Minister said new local government law would be presented in the Punjab Assembly next week. According to the new law, mayors would be elected directly at the district level, while a 13-member panel would contest the village council election.
Meanwhile Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says incumbent government is committed to complete ten billion tree project to cope with the challenge of climate change.
Addressing a tree plantation ceremony in Jhelum on Saturday, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan, unlike other politicians, is not thinking for next elections but for the future generations. The Information Minister expressed happiness for conservation of 10500 acre forest land in Jhelum.
He said due to prudent policies of government, agricultural economy and industry are booming. On the occasion, 20,000 saplings were planted in twenty-five acres by the students.
He said that the in result of the sacrifices of the martyrs of the security forces the country is moving forward. He said that betterment is coming in Pakistan, adding that first time the farmers are getting full price of their crops. He said that first time the agricultural economy has been boosted in the country and industry of the country is also being revived. He said that due to price spiral at international level, Pakistan is also facing price spiral but this price spiral will start coming down in next six or eight months and we all jointly will make Pakistan greater and greater.
