Fayyazul Hassan Chohan sacked once again

Lahore : Former Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) on Information and Special Initiatives Hasaan Khawar hasreplaced Fayyazul Hassan Chohan as the Punjab government’s spokesperson, as a result of a move by the Punjab government, shuffling Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan from his post for a third time.

Chohan was appointed as Spokesperson to Punjab government a week after Firdaus Ashiq Awan had resigned from the very post in August, earlier this year.

Chohan had first resigned as the provincial information minister in March 2019, amid intense criticism over his derogatory remarks directed against the Hindu community. He had then made a comeback as the Punjab information minister after nine months in December that year, only to be removed almost after a year in November 2020, when Awan was notified as the SACM on information.

Federal Information and Broadcasting minister Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday took it to twitter and congratulated the newly appointed spokesperson to Punjab government.

“Congratulations Hasaan Khawar, very well deserved appointment. Wish you all the best.” Tweeted the federal minister, posting a notification of the move.

Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan on the other hand while talking to reporters showed his incognizance with the move and said that this is the jurisdiction of Chief Minister to appoint anyone to this post.
