Govt employees stage protest at Peshawar’s Assembly chowk for salary raise

Peshawar: Police on Tuesday used water cannons and tear gas to circumfuse protestors, who were staging protest to demand increase in salaries.

According to details, government employees of KPK’s provincial capital on Tuesday demonstrated protest at Peshawar’s Assembly chowk and demanded an increment in their salaries.

The employees had boycotted performing their duties.

They were of the views that directorate employees have been neglected during recent budget and government took no steps to eliminate discrimination among employees.

The protestors said that they worked more than the employees of other departments yet they were taken for granted by the government.
