LHC bench constituted to hear pending cases against Pervez Musharraf, Asif Zardari, Gillani stands dissolved

Lahore: A full bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) constituted under Chief Justice (CJ) Amir Bhatti to hear 10 years old cases against former president Gen (Retd) Pervez , Musharraf, Asif Zardari and former Prime Minister (PM) Yousuf Raza Gillani stands dissolved without any proceedings.

One member of bench Justice Shahzad Malik has recused from hearing the case on personal grounds due to which the bench stood dissolved.

On the other three petitioners including Shahid Naseem, Rana Ilm ud Din and Allah Bakhsh Gondal who had got registered cases against these three persons have passed away.

The petitioner Rana Ilm ud Din had filed petition in the LHC against the promulgation of emergency by the former President Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf and holding dual offices by former president Asif Ali Zardari.

The lawyers Shahid Gondal and Allah Bakhsh had filed petition seeking disqualification of former PM Yousuf Raza Gillani.

A 3-member bench was constituted under the chief justice Amir Bhatti two days earlier to hear pending cases against these three persons.

The 3-member bench comprises CJ LHC Amir Bhatti, Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan and Justice Shujaat Ali Khan.
