‘Pak, Australia should benefit from each other’s expertise various sectors of economy’

Lahore: Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi said that Pakistan and Australia should benefit from each other expertise in livestock, education, health and trade sectors.

He said that there are vast opportunities for investment in Punjab. Speaker Elahi said that the government and the civil society have performed fully against covid-19 in Pakistan.

He was talking to Australian High Commissioner Dr Geoffrey Shaw who along along with four- member delegation called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi, MNAs Moonis Elahi and Salik Hussain in the Assembly Chambers on Tuesday.

On this occasion, Secretary Punjab Assembly Mohammad Khan Bhatti was also present.

Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi conducted the delegation around the new building of the Punjab Assembly and the House, he also apprised about history of the assembly, rules of Procedure and parliamentary traditions including legislation done in the Punjab Assembly.

In the meeting, views were also exchanged about continuation of democratic system in Pakistan, strengthening of the institutions, supremacy of the parliament and other matters of personal interest.

Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi said that seats have been reserved in the Pakistan assemblies for minorities, women have also been given representation in the national and provincial assemblies.

Australian High Commissioner congratulated Ch Parvez Elahi on the completion of the new House of the Punjab Assembly.
