Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi has called for expediting the process of digitization of the Parliament which will enable it to handle legislative business efficiently.

He was chairing a meeting on President’s Initiative for Cyber-efficient Parliament at Parliament House in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The President said automation of Parliament would increase performance of both the Houses, besides helping in prompt and quick decision making.

Directing all relevant stakeholders to complete Parliament’s automation project within stipulated time, he underlined that the country cannot afford delay in this project.

Arif Alvi said the government is taking measures to digitally empower various ministries and divisions to enhance accountability, transparency and improve service-delivery.
