Shahbaz bashes govt for high wheat prices

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed concern over extremely costly wheat prices in the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, Shahbaz Sharif said that country was facing early impacts of mini-budget. “Is this the new Pakistan?” he asked.

Shahbaz Sharif said that every day the government breaks its previous record of incompetence and sets a new record. Rupee was experiencing its lowest value against the US dollar. “increase in the price of flour to Rs 1, 100 is another link in the chain of endless oppression of the PTI government” he maintained.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the government was going to impose strict International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions on the country. “Is there any guarantee that IMF will not require new conditions even if this bill is passed” he asked.

Shahbaz Sharif said that news of re-emergence of wheat and flour crisis was due to criminal negligence, incompetence and corruption of government. “First wheat and sugar crisis were created, then they had to be imported from abroad” Shahbaz said, adding that no on one involved in sugar and wheat scams was punished so far.
