21-member lawyers panel all set to combat battle on judicial front in high treason case

ISLAMABAD: A 21-member panel of lawyers led by the noted lawyer Sharif ud Din Pirzada is all set to advance arguments in support of former president Pervez Musharraf in high treason case against him.

The lawyers panel has evolved voluminous books of arguments containing 1200 pages making such decisions of courts pages of these books which were handed down by superior judiciary of the country and apex courts of other countries to provide relief to military dictators.

Counsels for Musharraf will make cognizant of the court positive impacts left by military regimes on the country from Ayub era to Musharraf era. Comparison study of economic growth ratio in civilian and military dictator led governments and loot and plunder spree perpetrated in civil governments have also been appended in the books.

The affidavits of former PCO judges wherein they have not only declared the steps taken by Pervez Musharraf lawful but also have lent their full fledged support to him have also been included in the books.

The statements of senior political leadership testifying that Musharraf had not taken these steps at individual level but the other leaders and functionaries have considerably contributed to these moves. If any judgment is pronounced without summoning and hearing these persons it will not meet the ends of justice.

The lawyers panel will raise objections over the constitution of special court and the judges of the court before opening their arguments.

No lawyer will bank on the arguments of any other lawyer of the panel and every lawyer will construct the building of his arguments in his own way and will complete his arguments by focusing on some specific point.

Sources said the process of advancing arguments can span over 3 weeks.
