5 killed in blast on railway track in Rajanpur Distt

RAJHANPUR: Five people were killed and more than 30 were wounded on Friday when a passenger train was hit by a blast near Kotla Hasan Shah station on Friday.

According to General Manager Railways Anjum Pervez Khushhal Khan Khattak Express was en route to Karachi from Peshawar but when it reached Kotla Hasan Shah station a bomb that was fitted at the railway track exploded.

The blast was so powerful that all bogies of the train were derailed leaving 5 people dead and more than 30 wounded. 10 of the injured are said to be in critical condition. Dead and injured have been shifted to nearby hospital Rojhan Hospital.

The GM said that two relief trains have been dispatched to the area and rescue and relief work has been started. He said that an investigation has also been launched into the incident.
