54 nominated as accused in Rawalpindi tragedy case

RAWALPINDI: The investigation team has presented the challan of 54 accused in Rawalpindi Tragedy case in the court.

The challan of 31 other accused allegedly involved in attack on the Imambargah is also in the offing, it was learnt here.

According to the official sources, 160 persons were held on the 10th Muharram for attacks. Out of them 50 were released on being found innocent by the investigation teams.

Seventy persons were held in connection with attacks on the worship places. Out of them, 31 are being nominated in the challan to be presented in the court. Five different cases have been instituted in this regard and out of the number 385 case is most important one which was filed in Ganj Mandi.
