Gilgit: 9 people were killed while 25 injured after avalanche hit their homes near Shunter Top area of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B).

According to Astore police, at least 9 persons died in incident while many persons are buried under avalanche.

Number of casualties are feared to go up.

The persons buried in avalanches belong to Bakrwal.

The local people have started relief work.

According to Deputy Commissioner Astore, rescue teams have been moved to the scene.
