LHC orders to demolish brick kilns not converted to zig zag technology

Lahore: Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to demolish brick kilns which have not been converted to zig zag technology. The court also ordered to implement its order to ensure pick and drop of school children by buses. The court also ordered to lower all green belts of Lahore than the level of roads. The court ordered WASA to install meter on tubewells of all private housing schemes. The court sought detailed report from WASA with regard to installation of water meters. The court during the hearing of petition regarding elimination of smog expressed annoyance over wasting money in the name of decoration of Lahore. Mian Irfan Akram counsel for WASA presented interim report. It was told in the report working is underway for installation of tubewells meters in private housing schemes. Court decision will be implemented at every cost.

Justice Faisal Zaman of LHC recuses from hearing petition against installation of firewall

Lahore: Justice Faisal Zaman of Lahore High Court (LHC) has recused from hearing petition against web management system and installation of firewall. Justice Faisal Zaman sent the case file related to petition against web management system and installation of firewall to justice Chief Justice (CJ) LHC. The petitioner had taken the plea in this petition that installation of firewall is against the basic rights of the citizens.

Petition against allowing ISI to record calls of citizens: LHC directs to make petition filed in SC, and copy of order part of record

Lahore: Chief Justice (CJ) of Lahore High Court (LHC) Aalia Neelum while hearing the case against allowing ISI to record citizens calls has remarked if the case is pending hearing in Supreme Court (SC) then we cannot hear this case. A 3-member bench of LHC presided over by CJ Aalia Neelum took up the case for hearing Friday. The court ordered the petition filed in SC and copy of the order be made part of the record. We will see on receipt of these documents either full bench can hear this case or otherwise. Azhar Siddique advocate appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner. The notification on allowing ISI to record calls of citizens has been challenged in the petition.

Provision of facilities to PTI founder,Bushra Bibi in jail: LHC directs petitioner to resort to respective bench

Lahore: On the petition filed in connection with provision of facilities to PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in jail , Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the petitioner to resort to the respective bench . Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Alia Neelam took up the petition for hearing. Advocate Azhar Siddique appeared in the court. Raising objection for filing the petition on principal seat registrar office LHC said petition of such nature can be filed in Rawalpindi bench. The counsel for the petitioner said in his application IG Jails is respondent and not superintendent Adiala jail. The court while upholding the registrar office objection on the petition regarding provision of facilities in Adiala jail to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi directed the petitioner to resort to respective bench.

LHC nullifies appointment of Lt Gen Munir Afsar as chairman NADRA, orders to remove him from post

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) while declaring the appointment of Lt Gen Munir Afsar as chairman NADRA has ordered to remove him from the post. justice Asim Hafeez announced the decision. The court accepted the petition against the appointment of chairman NADRA. Citizen Kamran had challenged the appointment of Lt Gen Munir Afsar as chairman NADRA. The petitioner took the plea in the petition that the care taker government approved induction of serving army officer by making amendment in NADRA laws. The care taker government cannot interfere in permanent policy matters. it was requested that court should strike down NADRA amendment rules besides nullifying appointment of serving military officer as chairman NADRA.

Rawalpindi: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said Pakistan believes in peaceful neighbourhood, but no one should deem this desire as weakness. PM Shehbaz Sharif was addressing a ceremony held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday to mark the Defence and Martyrs Day. The Prime Minister said Pakistan has always been making efforts for global peace. He, however, said that Pakistan will never make any compromise on its integrity and freedom. The Prime Minister said this day reminds us the unmatched sacrifices of our brave soldiers who fought gallantly for the motherland. PM Shehbaz Sharif paid glowing tribute to those who lost their loved ones in war against terrorism. He reiterated that the armed forces of Pakistan would continue their operations against terrorists in the country. 'This moment is an honour for me that I am addressing the brave soldiers and families of the martyred of the country. Defence Day is a great reference to Pakistan's national identity. It reminds us of the sacrifices made by the soldiers for the independence and security of our country,' the premier remarked. PM Shehbaz Sharif said the Defence Day 'reminds us of the national harmony which helped the nation to thwart the nefarious designs of the enemy consumed by the lust for power.' He saluted the parents of the soldiers who laid their lives in the service of country and promised them to not let their sacrifices go in vain. The prime minister said that all of us may belong to different fields of life but our war front is the same, which is the development, security and defence. 'Pakistan is a junction of various civilisations and several powers have vested interest here, which directly affects the country,' the PM said terming 'invincible defence' inevitable for the peace and development of the country. The premier said Pakistan is a peaceful country and 'we have proved it in the 77 years of history that the country doesn't have violent intentions towards any neigbouring country'. Pakistan has always p layed a positive role in the eradication of terrorism, unrest and regional stability, he added. With its nuclear, defence and technological capability, and military capabilities, Pakistan has an undeniable role in the promotion of global peace, the PM said. 'Peace is our prime wish and we desire peaceful relations with our neighbours but we will not compromise our freedom, honour and interest.' He said that Pakistan has numerous times defeated the enemies but their nefarious plans are still a threat to Pakistan's existence. He, however, assured the nation that Pakistan will never rest until it crushes the head of terrorism. 'The Armed Forces of Pakistan and the law enforcement agencies will follow the Fitna-al Khawarij and their facilitators wherever they are and will soon achieve success with the national unity.' Talking about the massive human rights violations being committed by occupation forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), PM Shehbaz Sharif once again urged the world leader s to come forward and play their due role for peace in the region. About continued Israeli barbarism and aggression in Gaza, the Prime Minister urged the international community to raise its voice as it is directly affecting humanity in Palestine.
