Afghanistan not involved in assassination of Taliban in Pakistan: MoI

KABUL: Afghanistan Ministry of Interior has rejected involvement in assassinating members of Taliban council in Quetta.

In a press release issued by Ministry of Interior said Pakistan media based on anonymous resources of Taliban groups and official institutions of Pakistan has recently reported that a number of leading members of Taliban council in Quetta had been killed by particular government organs of Afghanistan in the past one month.

Interior Ministry of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has rejected any involvement of Afghanistan government organs in terrorist activities and considered the claims as totally baseless, stressing that Afghanistan government particularly Afghan security forces were involved in no terrorist activity and called the Pakistan media reports related to killing Taliban leaders by Afghan organs as conspiracy.

MoI also said Afghanistan government has been making efforts in the past few years to encourage armed opposition groups join peace program and return to their normal life.

Afghanistan Ministry of Interior considered killing of Taliban members in Quetta council as internal gaps in the group and infiltration of the regional intelligence networks, stressing that internal gaps among Taliban have caused assassinating of leading Taliban members by their colleagues.
