Alkhidmat Foundation’s relief activities in Peshawar’s incident: more than 150 volunteers, 12 ambulances takke part in rescue operation

PESHAWAR: As soon as Alkhidmat Foundation’s provincial President Khalid Waqas got wind of ghastly incident that ripped through Police Lines mosque in Peshawar, issued instructions to volunteers of Alkhidmat’s Disaster Management Cell and ambulance service to reach the site of incident as well as at the government Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Peshawar.

On his instructions, more than 150 volunteers from across the city reached the site of blast and the LRH for taking part in the relief activities.

Volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation shifted the injured and martyrs to the biggest hospital of the province LRH through 12 ambulances whereas Waqas Khalid kept on supervising the relief and rehabilitation activities.

On this occasion, besides providing coffins, experienced volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation and its ambulance service assisted the hospital administration in transporting the dead bodies to the Khyber Teaching Hospital for the motif of conducting their postmortem.

It is relevant to note here that those who took part in the rescue operation inside the mosque had to face severe hardships as a number of people were buried under the rubble. Due to which heavy machinery was also called in and aid activities continued till late night.
