Army will hold inquiry on Bannu attack: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Army will conduct inquiry on Bannu attack by militants at FC personnel which left 24 soldiers martyred on Sunday.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Sunday evening‚ Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the army will investigate into the terrorist act‚ which took place in Bannu on Sunday.

The government has decided to set up a joint intelligence directorate to counter terrorism in an effective manner.

He said a huge quantity of ammunition was used in the blast.

He said investigation is in progress to ascertain whether it was a suicide attack or a bomb explosion.

The interior minister asked political parties to unite the nation instead of point-scoring.

Earlier, the Interior Minister strongly condemned attack on security forces convoy in Bannu.

Chaudhry Nisar expressed solidarity with the families of martyred and sought detailed report from Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC) for not taking appropriate measures while taking services of private transport for the movement of security personnel.
