WAZIRABAD: The Gujranwala police have released the initial video statement of Muhammad Naveed son of Muhammad Bashir, who opened firing on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan at Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad sub-district of Gujranwala. The attacker Muhammad Naveed, cast Arain, is the resident of Sodhra area of Wazirabad. Police have also recovered 9MM pistol and two empty Magazines from the attacker.

Meanwhile the arrested attacker Muhammad Naveed in his video statement in police custody said that he committed attempt to kill Imran Khan because Imran Khan was misguiding the people.

The attacker said that he had decided to kill Imran Khan the day he started long march from Lahore. Muhammad Naveed said that he was only wanted to kill Imran Khan and not anyone else. The attacker said that on the one side the Azan was going on in mosques and on the other music was being played at the container and he did not like this.

The attacker said that no one was behind him and he was alone, adding that he parked his bike at the shop of his uncle. He said that his uncle runs the motorcycle showroom.
