Arshad Ayub, Gandapur paid visit to DIKhan

Peshawar: Provincial Ministers were briefed in detail regarding Chashma Right Bank Canal and Gomal Zam Irrigation System.

Talking on this occasion, Provincial Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan said that southern districts especially Dera Ismail Khan are important in terms of agricultural production and serve as Food Buckets for Provinces. Steps are being taken to solve the irrigation problems of these districts on priority basis.

He further said that thousands of acres of land remain barren due to lack of the best irrigation system in any country, for which it is necessary to have the best irrigation system for development.

"In order to review the irrigation system in the province, I have started a series of visits across the province, with the aim of knowing the ground realities and taking steps to further improve the system." Arshid Ayub Added.

During the visit, the Provincial Ministers met the farmers' delegations and listened to their problems. The Provincial Minister for Irrigation assured to take steps to solve their problems and informed the delegations regarding the ongoing development work of the Irrigation Department in Dera Ismail Khan.

The delegation thanked Provincial Minister Arshad Ayub Khan for visiting Dera Ismail Khan.

Provincial Local Government Minister Faisal Amin Gandapur, Chief Engineer South Nasir Ghafoor Khan and other relevant Irrigation Department officials were present on the occasion of the visit.

The Provincial Irrigation Minister further said that the province will be led towards self-sufficiency by increasing the agricultural production with the best irrigation system. The Irrigation Department is moving towards irrigating the province in the best way.
