Attempt to weaken energy entity PEDO, the officers’ decision to resist
Peshawar: The officer’s association of an energy generation entity in KP, Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), a subsidiary of Energy & Power Department has decided to strongly resist against the interference of external elements in term of conspiracy to illegally remove the head of the institution against the multi-billion rupees annual profitable and developed organization in province.
In this regard, an emergency general body meeting of PEDO’s Officers Association was held wherein a serious concern was expressed over the conspiracy to interfere in their work by making false allegations against the top management through various inquiries and to weaken a developed organization like PEDO.
Association paid tribute to CEO PEDO Engr. Naeem Khan over his great performance in context of solving the long-standing problems of employees by approving PEDO’s employees service rules 2020 from cabinet.
In addition of this, during his tenure, several energy projects were successfully completed, which brings additional income of billions of rupees to the province's treasury annually, while many ongoing energy projects of thousands of megawatts. The projects have also entered the final stages of completion.
The Officer’s Association strongly condemned the act against dismissal of the PEDO’s CEO through a conspiratorial letter as tried in the past few days and decided that if this act will exercise illegally a strong resistance to be made in term of protest, strike and also locking of the power plants by each employee of organization. The responsibility will be on the provincial administration.
PEDO’s Officers Association also paid tribute to the senior officials of the Energy and Power department who have continued to cooperate fully against illegal actions and external interference against organization.
They demanded that the transfer and deputation processes from outside should be stopped immediately and important responsibilities should be assigned to the competent officers of the institution.
