MULTAN: Women Chamber of Commerce South Punjab (WCCSP) has urged the government to fix dollar exchange rates at least for three consecutive months as rapid fluctuation in exchange rate is causing loss to business community.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, WCCSP President Fatima Laghari said that business community had to pay additional charges in the wake of fluctuation in dollar exchange rates.

She said, Multan was known to be a centre of business activities across the region. She said the advancement of women can be supported or accelerated only through strengthening of Women Chamber.

She appealed to the government to release approved funds for Women Chamber up to Rs 15 million so that they could invite foreign delegations in seminars, workshops and conference.

She called upon the government to lift ‘unnecessary barriers’ from imports and ensure better facilities to export as well.

Former president and senior executive member Masooma Sibtain also spoke on the occasion.
