CDA to ensure healthy conditions for healthy Islamabad: Ameer Ali Ahmad

ISLAMABAD: Member Administration CDA, Ameer Ali Ahmed has said that CDA was taking all possible measures to ensure healthy conditions leading to healthy Islamabad. Expressing these views while meeting with a delegation of Jamiat al Quraish here at CDA Headquarters on Monday, also attended by DC, ICT and DCO Rawalpindi.

A 20 acres slaughter house, which CDA is keen to establish in H-9 sector. at the earliest , would be having its PC-1 for the project, ready for approval this month without further delay; as immediately after the approval of PC-1, the work on the project will kick off over the Rs. 50 Million project.

This new slaughter house at Sihala, whose uplift was requested by DCO Rawalpindi, would be a source of supply of healthy, hygienic meat to Islamabad residents, for which Jamiat al Quraish has been encouraged to extend its proposals to make this slaughter- house project a success; and for whose professionalism the Meat Board would be re organized.

The delegation of Jamiat al Quraish appreciated the efforts of CDA and keenness towards betterment of the city.

Meanwhile the CDA spokesman said that a Chinese delegation visited Capital Development Authority Headquarters today, which was briefed that CDA wanted to promote a culture of healthy activities in the Capital City, making it more environment- friendly by providing cycling tracks.

It was also conveyed to the gusts that the Authority was concentrating on alternate sources of energy particularly solar energy for electrification in the city to make its operations more economic and cost effective and to reduce burden on already pressed national electricity grid.

During the meeting the visiting Chinese delegation informed that the Government of China was interested in the project of construction of 44 km long cycling tracks in Islamabad, to be constructed on Faisal, Margalla, Garden and Ata Turk Avenues.

The Chinese Government also intended to explore the electrification projects for of 240 acres of Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9 Park) and Parliament House through solar panels.

This project is to be conducted under the umbrella of an understanding of Government of China with Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan, and would be facilitated by a sixteen member panel of technical and financial experts to work on the project, deputed by the Government of China for the three projects which is already working in two teams for the three said projects.

The teams of Chinese financial and technical experts have started working from today on feasibility study of the three projects.

It may be recalled that a Chinese delegation visited CDA Headquarters back in September 2013 to discuss proposals on the said three projects; and after consultations with the CDA authorities, the delegation shared their findings with the Chinese authorities after the delegation got back to China.
