Cellular services restored in many cities including Karachi

KARACHI/QUETTA: The Cellular services have been restored in many key cities including Karachi and Quetta after conclusion of the Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) processions.

Cellular services had been suspended, this morning, in various towns of the country as part of security measures on eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (birth anniversary) of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The services were closed at around 9:00am and started to resume at 5.00pm with conclusion of the processions in different cities.

First of all, the mobile phone service resumed in Quetta city of Balochistan, at about 5.00pm and most delayed resumption of the cellular services took place at around 10.00pm in Karachi.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authorities (PTA) announced that the mobile phone services being closed in various cities of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Larkana and Sukkur. In Punjab, the services were closed in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sheikhupura, Multan and other cities.

Mobile phone services were closed in Quetta, Peshawar, Malakand Division and other parts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunwa as well on eve of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH).
