ISLAMABAD: Chinese company Cinotec will reportedly develop 25 hydro power stations with a total installed capacity of 500MW in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The company has forged a memorandum of understanding with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government to develop the plants on different sites along Swat River within a period of four years, according to Energy Business Review.

Cinotec is carrying out feasibility studies of hydro power stations at three different sites along Swat River and expects to complete in the next few months.

Once the feasibility studies complete, Cinotec will begin the construction works with a financial support in the form of loans from Chinese banks for all the projects.
