ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani, Thursday, took suo moto notice on news story “CDA turns scenic Margalla ugly”. CJP Tasadduq Hussain Jillani has directed the Chairman, Capital Development Authority, to submit report within two weeks.

A press statement said the CJP took notice on press clipping of Daily Dawn dated 1st January, 2014 containing the story captioned as “CDA turns scenic Margalla ugly” wherein it was stated that Margalla Hills give Islamabad its image of “the beautiful” but the city managers have been caught turning it ugly.

The news story further reported that a big CDA board on the road leading to the stinking site warns the public against investing in any scheme in its “preserved forest area” of the Margalla Hills National Park.

That indeed mocks at the CDA’s own illegal activity.

The CJP directed the Chairman CDA, “to hold meetings with DG Environment Protection Agency and to submit a detailed report as to; a proper long term composite solid waste management plan with an emphasize on recycling to the extent possible; steps required to reverse the damage caused to subject site and to submit such report within two weeks.”
