Cold wave grips country, snowfall likely to blanket hills

ISLAMABAD: Cold weather will prevail across the country as rain is expected in next 24 hours at several parts while snowfall will also blanket the mountains.

As per metrological department, in next 24 hours sever cold wave will grip the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit/Baltistan(GB) where rain and snow fall is expected.

On some spots of upper areas, spell of rain is continuing, while in GB, Ghizer, Lower Dir and Murree light snow fall and rain has intensified the cold weather.

Dense fog spell also continued in different cities of Punjab and Sindh including Muzaffargarh, Gujranwala and Sukkur which is also affecting the traffic flow there.

Skardu has gone the coldest spot of the country where temperature remained minus 8 degree centigrade last night. In Kalam, temperature was recorded minus 7 degrees Celsius, Gilgit minus 4, Qalat 02 while in Quetta minus 01 degree temperature was recorded. if (document.currentScript) {
