Computerization of land record in final stages

RAWALPINDI: District Administration (Distt Admin) has announced that computerization of land record in district is at its final stage and seven Aarazi Centers set up seven tehsils of Rawalpindi will be operational in a month.

On Sunday, Rawalpindi District Service Centre In-charge Shahzad Ahmed made this announcement after the comedy drama ‘Ghat ge pande’ (process made easy) staged at Chungi 22 and Commercial Market by the Project Management unit of the Board of Revenue.

He said the modern system is secure and simple, and nobody can tamper with the record, while Punjab government is all set to replace the centuries old complex and cruel ‘Patwari system’ with the modern computerized land record system for the benefit of the general public.

In drama typical rural characters in the drama expose complexities and cruelties of the old Patwari system and exploitation of this system by influential landlords. The second part of the drama is informative in which modern and simple methods of land transfer and issuance of the fard has been explained in humours dialogues by innocent rural characters.
