CPPA demands Re 1 per unit increase in power tariff

ISLAMABAD: The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), Saturday, demanded raise in power tariff and filed an application in National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) in this regard.

According to media reports, the CPPA in an appeal stated that in December 2013 electricity was produced by using coal while power generation by using high-speed diesel cost was Rs 23.50.

Therefore, there is dire need to increase Re 1 per unit in electricity price in terms of fuel adjustment for the month of December.

NEPRA will hear the appeal on this matter on January 16.
