Different political parties lawyers join PML-Q

LAHORE: The lawyers belonging to different political parties, Tuesday, joined Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

On the occasion, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that quick and cheap justice was necessary for development and prosperity of the country,

The PML-Q leader said we will turn Pakistan into welfare state and haven of peace with the cooperation of lawyers’ community, our goal is to make Islamic Democratic Pakistan an ideal welfare state.

The lawyers who joined PML-Q include; Syed Tahir Ahmad Shah, Ch Khalil Ahmad Gondal, Qari Zulfiqar Ahmad, Rana Mubashir Hussain, Mohammad Irfan, Rana Abu Bakr, Rana Imran, Rana Muhammad Yousuf, Mohammad Asif and Mian Mohammad Azam among others, PML Punjab Senior Vice-President Muhammad Basharat Raja, Mian Imran Masood, Zafarullah Cheema, Nasir Mahmood Gill, Seemal Kamran, Inayat Hussain Sara and Zulfiqar Pappan were also present.

Welcoming the senior lawyers into PML fold, Ch Parvez Elahi said that for the first time in the history of sub-continent Prosecution Service was established our tenure, formal legislation was done for Public Defenders Service and for the first time in Asia Consumer Courts were established from which thousands of consumers had benefited.

Continuing, he said that during our time facility of free medical treatment was provided to the lawyers, funds were also provided without any discrimination in Pakistan to the bars down to the tehsil level.

He went to mention that Lahore High Court Bar hall was constructed and Advocate General office was established and housing colonies for lawyers were provided because we believe that for quick and justice lawyers have to play central role.

Lawyers leaders described the tenure of Ch Parvez Elahi as the best for effective and result-oriented measures taken for quick and cheap justice, institutions established by him for supremacy of judiciary and consolidation of judicial structure had become victim of present govt’s vindictive attitude and these institutions which were benefiting everyone were now suffering from down-gradation for which the people were being punished.

The lawyers expressed their determination to continue struggle from the PML platform under the leadership of Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi.
