LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General of Punjab Police Shariq Jamal died mysteriously.

According to police sources, it has been told that the body of DIG Shariq Jamal was found in a flat located in the limits of Nishtar police station.

Police have detained a man and a woman and started the investigation.

Later police have released the arrested lady Quratulain and his husband.

It has been reported that Punjab Police DIG Shariq Jamal died mysteriously in a flat located in Nishtar police station between Friday and Saturday night.

Shariq Jamal was brought to the National Hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

As soon as the information was received, DIG Shariq Jamal's wife and daughter also reached the hospital

In the presence of both, the dead body of DIG was shifted to Jinnah Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem.

In connection with the death of Shariq Jamal, the police investigation and forensic team reached the flat and collected important evidence.

Woman and man who took the dead body of Shariq Jamal to the National Hospital were detained.

The woman and the man detained in the Defense A police station were interrogated for two hours, in which senior police officers were also present.

Arrested lady Quratulain and his husband were released after investigation.

Shariq Jamal was also posted as DIG Traffic and DIG Railways while he had recently completed the course for promotion to Grade 21 and was an officer on special duty during those days.
