ISLAMABAD : The Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs) have filed application in National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking increase in power tariff by Rs 2 per unit.

NEPRA will hear the petition of DISCOs on November 15.

An additional burden of more than Rs 42.63 billion will stand shifted to the consumers in the event of enhancement in the tariff. .

This enhancement in power tariff has been sought under the head of first quarterly adjustment.

The increase sought in power tariff will not be applicable to K-Electric consumers.
