Disqualification case: IHC issues notices to three PTI MNAs

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court has issued notices to three PTI members National Assembly Malaika Bukhari, Tashfeen Safdar and Kanwal Shozab and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on a  plea seeking disqualification of all of them.

IHC Justice Amir Farooq took up the disqualification case filed against three PTI MNAs Malaika Bukhari, Tashfeen Safdar and Kanwal Shozab by Mian Abdul Rauf Advocate for hearing on Monday.

During the course of hearing Malaika Bukhari and Tashfeen Safdar have filed their written replies in the court.

On the other hand, Counsels of Shaista Pervaiz Bukhari and Kanwal Shozab appeared before the court.

Counsel of Shaista Pervaiz said that she came to know  about the case through media.

Upon it Court remarked, “You should receive notice just now ”.

Mian Abdul Rauf advocate said that both females were elected as member national assembly on reserved seats.

After acquiring reserved seat, dual nationality was returned .

Counsel of Kanwal Shozab has received notice in the court room.

Mian Abdul Rauf Advocate said that assembly membership of both MNAs should be suspended till the decision of court.

Mian Abdul Rauf said that Malaika Bukhari should be disqualified upon keeping dual nationality while Kanwal Shozab should be disqualified upon giving wrong information to Election Commission of Pakistan.

He said both should be disqualified under 62 one-F.

Court while issuing notices to Malaika Bukhari, Tashfeen Safdar and Kanwal Shozab and ECP adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
