Disqualification case: IHC terms Faisal Vawda’s attitude as non-serious

ISLAMABAD : Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday has conducted hearing of disqualification case against Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Faisal Vawda.

During the proceedings, the IHC judge Justice Aamer Farooq termed Faisal Vawda’s attitude towards the case as non-serious and suggested to send the copy of the notice to the Federal Cabinet.

Meanwhile, the plaintiff Mian Faisal Advocate’s counsel Barrister Jehnagir Khan Jadoon Advocate said that the minister has not submitted his reply yet despite concluding 16 hearings of the case. Jehangir Jadoon said that one year ago the court had summoned reply from Faisal Vawda but so far he has not submitted the reply, adding that the court had asked if you had dual nationality then tell on which date the dual nationality was surrendered?

Justice Aamer Farooq remarked that whether we should give July 2023 date to Faisal Vawda, adding that we had asked Vawda to submit reply in the court. Justice Aamer Farooq while addressing the counsel of Vawda remarked that why you are shying from submitting the reply.

The court while summoning the representative of Election Commission of Pakistan along with the record has adjourned further hearing of the case till February 8.
