Education Minister seeks support of JICA in skill development projects at schools

ISLAMABAD: Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood says a program for the enrollment of out of school children in Pakistan has been started, and the pilot project of which has already been launched in Islamabad.

He was talking to a delegation of Japan International Cooperation Agency in Pakistan led by its Vice President Dr. Toda Takao in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The Minister said about 11,000 out of school children will be enrolled in government schools at the start of New Academic Year.

The Minister sought support of JICA in skill development projects at schools.

He said Federal Ministry of Education is working on introducing a nationwide literacy program to improve literacy rate in Pakistan.

Vice President JICA Dr. Toda Takao said all the education projects of JICA in Pakistan will be made more effective.
