Efforts to be made for peace, development in FATA: Governor KP

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Shaukatullah has said that efforts and initiatives will be made for peace and development in FATA on priority.

He was talking to Members of National Assembly, Mohammad Nazir, from North Waziristan and Ghalib Khan from South Waziristan during a meeting held at Governor’s House in Peshawar on Sunday.

They remained with the Governor for some time and held detailed discussions on a number of FATA related issues, including Peace and development in FATA.

The Governor said that the consultation and their inputs will be given due weightage and assured them the FATA parliamentarians would be taken along in all matters and decisions about FATA.

The Governor appreciated the support from FATA parliamentarians at the national front as well as in the affairs of FATA. He said that he himself and the government had always treated the elected representatives in high esteem and as a matter of principle they would always be taken on board while taking any decision about tribal areas. He hoped that the pace of progress would be further enhanced to the entire satisfaction of the people of FATA

Members National Assembly assured the Governor of their full support and backing in his endeavours and initiatives for peace and development in FATA.

Meanwhile, Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah has strongly condemned the terrorist attack at convoy of security forces at Bannu on Sunday and expressed his deep shock and sorrow over the loss of precious lives.

In his condolence message, the Governor while expressing his deep sympathies with the bereaved families, the Governor has assured that the incident will be thoroughly probed and the elements involved in the heinous crime will be brought to court of law and justice.

Paying rich tributes to the martyrs, the Governor has said that the immortal sacrifices of the brave sons of our soil are the proud part of our history which always will be remembered with great honour.

He has also prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with patience. He has also wished early recovery of the injured.
