Eggs prices witness meteoric rise in federal capital

ISLAMABAD: With the severe cold wave lashing federal capital , the eggs prices have witnessed meteoric rise so much so that eggs have become a thing not for use for the poor segments of society .

Eggs prices have been jacked up from Rs 70 per dozen to Rs 120 per dozen in all the markets of Islamabad.

The prices of Desi eggs is hitting record high as it is available at the rate of Rs 25 per egg in the bazaars and shops.

It is prescribed by the doctors that eggs be made part of food for the children being highly nutrient but the skyrocketing prices of the eggs has restricted this product to the children of affluent families.

The citizens have demanded of price control committee to ensure stability in the prices of eggs besides launching crackdown against the shop keepers found involved in selling eggs at higher rates than the prices fixed by this committee.
